I don't see why it matters which beam position the switch is on... I would think it's more important to know what the beam pattern it's actually projecting!fueler wrote:the stock headlight harness has three prongs: negative, low and hi. Your relay harness is getting its signal power from the hi beam socket on your stock headlight wiring.... you need to simply unplug it from hi and plug it into low.
and i agree - i got the bixenon and i like having 2 options: bright, and daylight
true, but the position that the combination switch is in, matters too... when its in high beam its farther away from the steering wheel so you cant comfortably reach the turn signal with the tips of your fingers with hands on the wheel.... also theres an annoying blue lamp on the gauges for high beam.UndeGuy wrote:

I agree with this. With something as important as headlights don't half @ss it. I wont get into the whole HID in the wrong reflector because it's been beat to death and people are going to do what they want to do whether it's "wrong" or not or their not educated on the matter.UndeGuy wrote:

re: ray-peg
I hope you have the correct pattern and aim... because it's a lot more trouble than it's worth if it's mis-aimed.
I don't understand why you skimped out on getting the bi-xenon in the first place. I would just get one now, and put the current kit on the side. Sure, it's spending more money, but sometimes, it's worth it.
Oh, fyi, please don't say you're a student with no job and living off parents allowance or money is tight for rent, or something like that... cause if you can't afford the "better" kit, why waste money buying a "bad" one?
No offense dude, but 97% of the HID products are made in China(I did this paper 2 years ago in my marketing course), the other 3% made in south Korea,. Those HIDs in AUDI, MB, AND LEXUS,Even Bosch(only oem on BMW), they are all made in China, just different quality. On my j30, I bought a set of HID made in China 4 years ago, it's like 400 dollar that time, I use them every single day, still work great and bright like hell.fueler wrote:empty v, no offense but putting chinese HID bulbs in nissan reflectors is no worse than putting chinese HID light on your roof rack. I think its funny how youve been slamming HID's ever since you got those la paz lites. U never said anything before. When its the same exact s***. I'd like to see the cutoff pattern of those lites by the way (to see if my theory is right or wrong) I know they are off-road only... but damn dont you love the brightness!
Well I think you just answered your own question. If everyone is using their HID's for offroad I think it's great, but they're not. Plus the reflectors and lenses in my lights are designed for a wide beam but they are not designed for optimal light output with an HID lamp. If they were meant for headlights the bulb would not be directly visible from the front and the reflectors would be completely different. Since they're not designed as headlight it's okay to have the lamp exposed but I would redesign the reflectors and lenses.fueler wrote:empty v, no offense but putting chinese HID bulbs in nissan reflectors is no worse than putting chinese HID light on your roof rack. I'm game for sure. I just got off the phone with the guy who's still working on getting me my wheels. They're trying to work a deal with Lexani(distributor) and once that's settled I'll be getting a much better deal. I hit a flat on my current tires last time out. Mt tread is pretty worn down so I'm a**'d out until I can get these wheels and some new tires, which will hopefully be soon. I feel like a broken record right now.fueler wrote:my 4wd works but makes noise. so i only use it when its absolutely necessary - 2wd makes offroading a lot more fun though. Ive been exploring anza borrego desert the past few months - i know of several trails that are 2wd friendly but still challenging to your suspension and tires, and a whole lot of fun. I go out there in 2wd all day long - if ya wanna join me, youre more than welcome... you would have a blast. and its not far from you! ill even be out there tomorrow - sunday.... my qx4, with a 4runner and a WD pathfinder...
