So I'm sure this subject has been discussed but having trouble finding it using my phone and I am new to this forum...anyway I cleaned my throttle body a couple weeks ago and since am having a problem with high idle. I'm now learning this seems to be a common problem but I've done the relearning procedures and have also reset the computer and I've gotten the idle to come down from about 1000 rpms to about 700-750 rpms and it will stay as such until I shut off the car and restart it then it restarts at high idle and the engine light comes on...anyone have any ideas/tricks to get it to reset and stay?? I have a 2003 infiniti g35 sedan

Idle Relearn

This seems to be a pretty common thing if you swap tbs or clean your tb. Here is how you do it.

-Warm up engine.
-Turn ignition switch ?OFF? and wait at least 10 seconds.
-Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds.
-Repeat the following procedure quickly five times within 5 seconds.
a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal.
b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
-Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 20 seconds until the MIL stops
blinking and turned ON.
-Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the MIL goes ON.
-Start engine and let it idle.
-Wait 20 seconds.
So you tried the procedure above.

Yes I've done that whole process about 3 dozen times.

When you cleaned the TB, did you move the butterfly valve? It is very sensitive and damaged with just a light touch. Only clean with solvent...

Well I went to the dealer and had the system reset. Now I have this rough idle problem that I was having before that led me to claen the TB in first place. I had the plugs changed the fuel system cleaned, cam shaft sensor changed. I don't know what else it could be. It runs fine down the highway and on the street but at the red lights it shakes when I let my foot off the brake. No problem on the take-off though. I f I let it idle for a few minutes in park it will throw P0300, which tells me nothing. Who knows what the problem is????
