High Idle speed?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Have a 2010 EX 35 2000 miles, overall very happy with the car.
One problem if it is a problem that is bugging me is::
Once speed is over 20 mph and lift foot away from gas pedal , the vehicle will drop down to 20mph and will not deccelerate to mph below that, almost like it is in cruise control , it locks in at about 20mph until I apply the brakes. When applying the breaks it almost feels like the car wants accelerate for a few seconds. When engine is cold I understand a higher RPM rate which hangs around 1 then drops down one more notch after car is warmed up. But even when car is warmed up the problem still present. Not sure if this is normal for the car.

Took into dealer and they had no fix and said the car was operating fine.

Welcome to the Site.

I'd say you still have an issue the Shop needs to re-check.

Maybe somebody else will chime in and help you out.

Sounds similar to a problem another guy was having. You might try contacting him to see if he got it resolved:

I think what you're feeling is the downshifting, which I really enjoy, because it's similar to how a manual transmission feels. It will stay in gear, until you tap the brake, then downshift as you decelerate.

Every car I and my wife have ever owned was manual. Whenever we rent a car, we would both comment about how strange and weak an automatic feels. One of the things we love with the EX is how it behaves so much like a manual. It downshifts when I want it to, matches the revs, stays in gear when I want it to. Unlike any automatic I have driven, it feels like I have control over the shifting like a manual.
