OK I just swapped a 92 ka into my 90 with 11.1 to 1 compression. it runs great. but the idle is all messed up.Sometimes it'll idle at about 1500 sometimes it likes to sit around 2000. and every once in a while it actually its around 900-1000 rpm. when its sitting at 2k I unplug the tps and plug it back in and it drops to 1500. until I drive and then the next time i push the clutch and come to a stop it sits at 2k usualy. sometimes when I first push the clutch it drops to 1000 then suddenly hops up to 2k. I think its the tps because theres a wire on the bottom that comes out and plugs into the harness. and then theres a plug on the from of the tps that your suplosed to plug something into. BUT the 92 ka24de harness I got for my 92 engine doesnt have the plug for the second tps plug in?? Whats up with that does anyone with a ka24de have both plugs on the tps plugged in??? Does it need both? I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. I looked on the harness and couldnt find a wire that would go to the plug, thinking that maybe it got cut off. but theres no wires at all.:help

Second plug is for the auto transmission...so it can remain unplugged.

Have you tried adjusting the idle with the IACV set screw?

It located on the back of the intake manifold, and as you turn the screw in (clockwise), it lowers the idle.

The proper way to set it is with the TPS unplugged, BTW.

Unplug TPS, lower idle to 700 (+/-50), plug TPS back in.

Hope that does it.

What is the TPS and where is this screw located exactly?

Like most mechanics say, check the most obvious spot first. Well it was very simple problem. Throttle body screw!!! the one right underneath the throttle body that adjusts the cable stop must have vibrated loose and was screwing itself up. So I just readjusted the screw and stuck some silicone on it and problem solved.:D
