In the past week I changed/replaced:- every single exhaust gasket- radiator- radiator hoses- air filter

When I first started (or tried to start), I found the battery to be dead, so after trying to jump it and it still being dead, I replaced it, and the car started up right away.

When starting the car, the idle shot up to 2000 and just stayed there. I thought it was just a high cold start up, but it stayed that way even when warmed up.

I sprayed carb cleaner on all hose couplers to see if idle would rise, but I had no luck. I also went over every single hose clamp to see if any were loose.

Can anyone please help?

I think I figured it out...

I bypassed the coolant lines that go into the TB thinking it would be beneficial, but I didn't realize there was a fast idle cam on my S14 SR which uses the coolant that passes through.

Going to reconnect the lines and see what happens...

Problem is fixed.

DO NOT BYPASS COOLANT LINES ON TB.

Ooooh, good information to know, since my car has the same issue with the fast idle. Good job hunting down the culprit.
