high idle 3000rpm

its an s13 redtop in a s13 the car idels around 2500-3000 rpm untill i pinch off the hose going from the ic piping to the iac. then it will idel right around 1000 rpm but if i pinch the hose all the way it shuts off . i have a spare iac but it look like hell to do . do u think its my iac or a vac leak after the throtttle body ? i tryed the old carb cleaner trick and no change in idel , plz help me i miss driving her !!!!! sean

there's a big screw on the IAC (Phillips) Tighten that and see if anything changes.

I'm also having the same issue with my car. I have already replaced the IACV (after adjusting the screw, which did nothing). The only difference is that my car idles around 2k... it's not horrible but makes me grit my teeth when it's cold out and doing a cold start.
