High heat, stock fan?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I was curious to know if the stock fan on the KA would be able to help cool with the addition of a turbo? How reliable would it be at the high heat? I know an upgrade would be better, I just want to know how the well the KA sizes up.

i would be more worried abot the rad....my car overheated very easy with the stock rad...

I didnt even think about the radiator. Thanks!!!

BTW, what does your car run in the 1/4? If you havent ran it through the 1/4 what do you think it could run?

I never been to a track, but from a stop light I race my friend in a 91 Honda crx si with a header/CAI/Custums exuasted and advanced timing. He has been to the track and has run 15.9@88mph. I beat him by a full car lenghth 0-90mph. He also had racing gas and a new racing cluch.My 92 240SX LE IS STOCK. 161K on it, it also red lines at 7200rpm. I bought the car used with a 140k on it. It is save to say I am runing 15.7in the 1/4 mile.Turbo soon to come.

I mean~right red line is at 6900 rpms, but fuel cutoff is not until 7350 rpms.So i shift at 7200 rpms. my 240sx pulls like there is no tomorrow to fuel cut off.Is this the same as other 240??..........1st gear shift point 40 mphs,2nd gear 70 mph, 3rd gear at 100 mph.Ihave beaten all the NA 240SX IN WILMINGTON NC,I thougt it was because I was a better driver.It could possbile be that it could have a ECU,or Cam upgrade ,I dont know because I bought the car used at 140k. Is my car normal?

i have turbo and nitrous on my KA running over 25psi and i am still using the stock fan and stock radiator. i live out in san diego and i have raced it in hot weather and it has never over heated..never. oh but i use a nismo thermostat and water wetter.

S13 KA24DET my 240sx when stock would not pull like you describe. actually it would pull very hard up until around 5500rpm and then there would be no power probably due to the timid cam profiles and crappy stock ecu. your car must have some mods. either cam or ecu
