I was wondering if anyone knew of anykind of material that could be used to absorb the shock of my exhaust (if you didnt know i have the dump out the side). The pipe is welded directly to my rocker panel, and when it gets up around 3.5 grand RPMs, it vibrates like a mofo. I was thinking about possibly using a chunk of a radiator hose and just jamming it in there but it probably wouldnt look so good. anyone have any ideas? i have to work on it anyway because there are gaps between where the hole was cut and where the pipe is in some spots. Thanks.

small square bits of rubber on a bolt will stop your vibration.Don't weld it, just bolt it.With it welded you will never stop the vibration, and can break things if you torque/hit/scrape the exhaust.

Ill get a pic as soon as possible, but i have to find someone with a digi camera first, and right now its looking really rough because theres lots of bare metal thats all rusted up. Im kinda waiting for warmer weather to get the whole thing done. i was thinking about painting my rocker panels black (after I bondo the seams of the new rocker piece), but my car is light blue/silver, and i dont know how it might look. i figure if it looks crappy ill just take that same black and make some racing stripes with it or something, just so the rocker panels will have something to match to. Also, ill have to dream up some kind of trim ring to go around the pipe and mask the rubber crap im going to be jamming in there :)

hahahaha...mine use to do that....

I built a exhaust system that went ...Stock Cat -> 2.25" Mini Turbo Muffler -> 2.25" splitter pipe -> 2-2.25" pipes the dumped out on each side of the car right in front of the rear wheels...

It was a bad a$$ setup...until some junk in the Houston Highways removed the passenger's side pipe at 70 mph... :(

Then I bought MIG welder and built my new "Twice Pipes" system... :)
