When you say no cat do you mean test pipe or open DP?

. I would say it depends on the cat and the test pipe. I've switched back and forth on two turbo cars and it does seem to make a small difference to my butt dyno. I don't know how though as they are both 3 inch, maybe there is something in the cat that causes a small restriction. Cats are only good for smogging a car and keeping the fumes down so you don't pass out.

I've noticed zero difference between a test pipe and a hi-flow cat with both being ~3". If you did lose HP it would be minimal.
