How much extra HP will they give me?

Are the HFC's too loud? Will the car sound like a Honda Civic?

I have my Y-Pipe and Cat-back ready for installation. After the install I was going to do the Uprev tune and be done with doing anything else to the car. I just don't want to install and do the tune and at the end regret not having the HFC's.

I'd love to hear from all the members who have the HFC's.

Which HFC's do you purchase?

Nope, OE exhaust on mine. I have heard full cat deletes and high flow exhaust will lose power on a stock car though so I am interested to hear how HFCs will affect it. But either way, with HFCs you will not have a Honda Civic loud fart can sound at all, that I can guarantee.

Last thing I want to do is lose power. Not to get off the HFC topic, but has anyone lost power from their exhausts? Would HFC's, Y-pipe and cat back be too much?

Just get the Uprev thru Seymore 4, he can tune your car remotely. If you decide to get HFC's later, just do some data logging with the HFC's and send it to Seymore 4 and he can make the adjustments accordingly. Shoot him a PM and he will be able to provide more insight as far as costs, process, etc...

So it can be done without the car being there? I'll shoot him a pm to get an idea of how it works.

When you take it to Uprev, they dyno it right?

^ tuning your car can be done remotely with Seymore 4, or you can take your car to a tuning shop that offers Uprev tuning.

Ok CPJ..

After reading your HFC thread, should I go with Berks or is there something better out there now? (it is a 3 year old thread)

I was told G35 HFC's a few months back. No brand name was mentioned.

You will need to get HFC's made specifically to fit the VQ35DE engine (G35 coupe/sedan 03 ~ 06, 350Z 03 ~ 06)
Search the following companies that make HFC's based on your budget:

BERK
Fast Intentions (I'd look for the 'resonated HFCs')
Stillen
LaBree
ARK

Otherwise, you can search for used HFC's that meet the specs of the VQ35DE engine (listed above), BUT....the used HFC's that are being sold may be on a short life cycle - depending if the prior owner(s) used them for race purposes, had an un-tuned engine, have been damaged, etc. It's best to find a reputable seller on the forums.

If you decide to replace your cats for HFC's, be sure to check the status of your oxygen sensors as well. Remember, you have an 06 so it's nearing the 10 year mark so trying to complete engine mods may not have the same output as a younger engine....unless you invest in modifying your engine internals --- another can of worms and budget

Thanks CPJ, that's the info I've been looking for. Im not going to buy used, Id rather have my head straight and buy new. I will look into the oxygen sensors as well since its all right there.

My car is a 2007. Is buying the 03-06 G35 HFC's still ok?

no problem! Since you are planning to buy new, that's a good thing - you'll also get (most certainly) new hardware including gaskets, bolts... On another note, since you plan on upgrading your exhaust system, you should also change the old rubber exhaust hangers...they tend to get hard and crack/torn over time, thus causing unwanted noise/vibration...

The M35 (VQ35DE engine) is relevant for the years 06-08, so getting HFC's labeled for G35 03-06 (VQ35DE) is fine. If you see HFC's labeled for the VQ35HR those will not fit your car.

Great to know. I'll be picking up those HFC's and rubber hangers soon. I could get those hangers from anywhere right?

I ordered the Kinetix HFC's. Does Autozone have the rubber hangers?
