High EGTs and glowing manifold at idle.....HELP!!!

the current setup is a tubualr top mount manifold, precision sc-50 t3/t04e, 740cc's, 3in ex, greddy intake mani, SS tuned ecu, head work (cams, ras, hg, studs, port/polish) etc etc

welll i fixed the timing a few times......i even pulled the valve cover to be sure....this is what i got......and as of now its still glowing red at idle......i need help bad here

So as far as i can see that is the correct timing.....so y does it run so damn hot????!!!! Glowing red manifold at idle and it'll idle at 500C-550C and my probe is behind the turbo on the DP not even on the manifold itself....at WOT ill see upwards of 700-750C+.......the car also doesnt make the kind of power it should.....thats y i suspected timing....on time i cranked up the timing and set it to 15BTDC but the idle was at like 1800rpms come to find out it wqas more like 40BTDC and the thing ran AWESOME....,..fast as hell and the EGT temps were way down.....but i dont wanna blow up my motor running with too much timing.....what should i do???? ANY CLUES????:help

exhuast cam off by a tooth or 2 maybe???n only thing i can think of

I'd lean towards a cam being off as well.

As far as temps (500c at idle, 750c at cruise)...those are about 50c higher than I see, but that all depends on probe placement. So long as under full load you're not seeing temps over 870-900c at the top of 3rd (or 4th) gear, your EGT's are OK.

There should be 9 links inbetween the two dots on the cam gears (not including the links ontop of each dot).

i am having the same problem. only i build boost really quickly...with almost no load. I'm wondering if it is a lean condition.

i have 9 links between dots, and i have resest timing 4 times with the valve cover off.
