I have a rb25det neo that span a connecting rod bearing. I have a replacement rod and crankshaft to rebuild it. I also have a rb25de neo non turbo engine I was thinking of using as a test bed. The idea is to use the non turbo head+block, install the cams, oil cooler from the neo turbo with a after market turbo elbow (to reduce backpressure) then install manifolds stock turbo and ecu from the neo turbo to see what power I end up with at 5psi and an apexi neo piggy back

Welcome to NICO!

I have no idea what any of those things are since I'm no RB guy, but it does sound interesting. If you do end up building it, post up a thread! We love the unique stuff here!

I curious to see how this setup would preform compared to original rb25detneo, since it would have the turbo cams installed. I have all the parts to rebuild the original neo turbo also, but I have a non turbo neo long block and the time I attempting this build

You should get better torque and response. Thats only if u didn't exceed the limit of your fuel.

Just looking for a comparison in terms of power and 1/4 mile time at 7psi with this setup and the original turbo setup. :gotme.

Also I am using the ecu, injectors and manifolds from the rb25det neo so fuel should not be a problem. The car has a walbro internal pump and a fuel pressure regulator.

I'm refering to fuel type. race fuel, E85, 97 RON, 91, with or without methanol injection?? All this will determine your fuel limitation on this compression ratio which will be 10:1, correct me if I'm wrong

97RON without methanol. I friend of mine had a series 2 non turbo with a bolt on turbo and the turbo ecu, injectors and airflow with a t3/t4 turbo on 97RON with no problems. The neo non turbo cams (exhaust) are different from the neo turbo cams. Also the turbo elbow I am going to use separates the waste gate from the turbine to reduce backpressure.

High backpressure creates an environment that encourages detonation, so keeping it to a minimum reduces the chances of it occurring in the high compression turbo setup.
