Hey guys. I'm actually an SR owner, but was told to ask around over here for my question...I'm building up my SR and thinking about raising the compression from 8.5/1 to 9/1. Some guys in the SR forum said that CA guys do this. What kind of gains have you all seen? I know it will make the motor slightly less boost friendly, but I don't mind losing some peak power in return for quicker spool or a little more "all motor" power. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

9.0:1 is not a bad thing. Watch your timing, use good gas and make sure your intercooler is up to the task.

I'm at .020 over and 9.5:1. You'd better plan on standalone and no less than 91 octane. Higher if at all possilbe. I've got to run a lot of retard under boost to keep it from knocking. The throttle response and spool is very quick though.

Well, we have 93 octane here in San Antonio. But, stand alone is way out of my budget. I was going to get an enthalpy tune. I might just stick with stock compression if it's going to be a huge amount of trouble. Any more tips or opinions?
