Alright, I guess this would be the spot to put this idea out there. I'm in the process of building an all motor monster. To give a quick run down, here's what we have so far:Crower stage 3 race cams 288 dur/114 overlapCustom Ferrea oversized valvesCustom bucketsCrower race springs & retainersFull race port by the guys who do the Titan motorsport headsJWT adjustable cam gearsCometic head gasketARP 11 mm head studs.020 bored blockCustom Carillo rodsCustom 12.1:1 JE pistonsKing bearingsXcessive Motorsports intake manifold w/ bored and matched G35 throttle body (~75mm I think)Some type of header (pacesetter long tube?)ARP main studsStill not to sure on the crank but shaved for sureAll balancedVacuum pumpNo EGR2 staged 200 shot of juice (about)Big injectors (still not sure which)

That's where I'm at so far. I'm looking for some info on the factory ECU being able to take that w/ a JWT program or if I would have to go Stand-alone. I'm not afraid to do that either, but then it comes down to which one? I've been told you can do a Mega Squirt for a quarter the cost of the AEM which is the route I was going, but I don't wanna sacrifice quality for all this dough I'm sinking in. Any opinions about anything would help, cause I'm kinda at a stopping point w/ it all and I'm not too sure where to go. Thanks for any insight.

Yeah, engineering forum is a bit slow.

I don't really have an answer for you, but I would try giving Enthalpy (http://www.rs-enthalpy.com) a call. And maybe Enjuku might be of some help as well. They'd be able to give you better insight on which route to take. I'm personally not a fan of JWT as it takes them forever to get anything done and they always tune on the conservative side. Besides, you're in FL and it'll be easier, no matter which route you take, to get your car on a dyno for a more accurate tune.

Try the ECCS forum. It moves very slow, but it will teach you how to tune your own ECU. For a hell of a lot better price than a standalone, with stock-like driveability. Ask me more.

I would go standalone, best option for any modified engine. Easy for you to make changes when you use new fuel types and new engine parts. Also good for logging and trouble shooting.

ECU Tuning is more affordable, and with Consult you can log. Also, you can use the Willems Dual Power burner, and burn chips on the road. Also, if you use the 40 IDE, you can remote mount your ROMs from your computer, then you can change them without having to take off your kick panel every time. To do all of that is about 200 dollars.

hey there, i was considering a very similar build in my s13 hatch....

as far as injectors, i really doubt you will need anything bigger than the SR 370cc purple top injectors(which are a dime-a-dozen). those can support about 290hp in turbo conditions, and i doubt we are talking about any more power than that for an all motor application. honestly, i dont think you will need bigger ones at all. ill need to double check what the stock injector size is n the KA-DE's, but thats my thoughts on that.

otherwise, it looks like you have everythig very well planned out; crowre cams are good stuff, but i dont think you would have to have JE pistons, specificaly. CP is the same company, for much lower prices, and i dont think that the slight quality isse b/t JE and CP will be an issure here.....then again, if you really do plan on running a 200 shot....maybe stick with the JE's.

like underground57 said, look up enthalpy. ive heard nothing but good thing about them from SR owners i know. but also , deciding b/t AEM EMS and Megasuirt is totally 'apples to oranges'. by that, i mena that theyre two completely differant systems as far as user-freindlyness. the AEM EMS is truly plug-and-play, but is expensive.the MS is supre cheap, but you better know damn well what youre doing with it. i kinda want to try the Ms, i think im up for it, but we'll see i guess(first i need a built motor to put it onto).

Take a look a BIKI rom--about the only downside is you have to turn to car off to upload a new program. I would not shave your crank unless it is just to be smoothing it out--and consider a crank scraper w/ windage tray.
