My friend and I just finished with the HIDs on my Baby-G. Forgot mydigicam though >_< so no step-by-step. The driver's side ballast is hooked onto the bumber support. The passenger's side is the same as iM0jE's install. Will post a couple of snapshots of the final results when I get home and get my digicam out.

P.S. Don't look directly into the lights after they've been on for awhile. You will see spots for a few minutes after.

Awesome. I am planning on getting HIDs soon. Which kit did you buy? Also, how difficult was it to remove the bumper?

I bought some kit off ebay. I was skeptical with it working but it's fine so far. No red flags at install. It was only $85 including shipping. The bumper removal wasn't at all that hard. Much to my surprise, it came off rather easily and was put back on in no time at all. It was finding where to put the driver's side ballast that was hard.

I've been waiting for step-by-step instructions before starting. I really don't want to mess anything up, especially with the bumper removal. I've also been looking for a good 5000K-6000K HID kit. Hope Eric posts good instructions in the near future.

My patience is starting to wear thin at this point. I've been sitting on these HID's for almost 3 weeks and they're just begging to be installed. Today is my free day and it is raining; at least not storming like last weekend, but it is a bit wet. I'm hoping it clears up soon because I want to get this done ASAP!! And don't worry guys, I'll post a bunch of pics for your viewing pleasure. Just pray the Rain God's decide to give me a few clear hours to work with.

Thanks. Just please post step-by-step instructions. My main concern is bumper removal and reassembly, as well as where to put the ballasts.

At this point, I can make a quick guide on bumper removal. I'm not gonna remove my bumper again but will point out all the points of where screws and clips are, what they look like, and how to remove them. That is probably the most daunting task cuz it sounds complicated but it's really quite easy.

Ballast placement is probably more a personal choice. You can do it really neat and possibly drill some custom holes for the ballast, zip tie it to a part of the car, or you can fajangle some existing bolt or screw to attach it to. I chose the fajangle and zip-tie method.

After my oil change tomorrow, I will bust out the digicam and start to take snaps of the points of attachment. Then write out a guide for the removal.

That would be much appreciated. Were the ballasts you installed large or small? I'm thinking of using very strong 3M double-sided tape to hold them in place. Perhaps zip-tieing wouldn't hurt either.

Bumper removal isn't very hard, it does take a bit of time and patience though. But why remove the bumper when you can just go through the well? There's way more than enough space to work with and there's enough room to mount the ballast somewhere in there too. As I was doing mine, I planned to just zip tie it to a couple of points behind the housing.

would this apply to altima coupe's as well? meaning as in is there enough space in the altima coupe's wheel area?

There's not much difference as far as space is concerned between the sedan and coupe's front ends. I don't see there being a problem.

That's great news. If I can bypass the bumper removal during installation, it would make life much easier. I just recall other members saying that you had to remove the bumper for proper installation.

Removing the bumper will give you more space to work with, but going through the well is good enough. This is what it looks like on the passenger side; way more than enough space:
