hey everyone! i just recently bought an '08 G37 and while the headlights are nice as they are, i would prefer a headlight with a bluer tinge to it..you know what i mean. i have zero experience in the area of car modification, but i do know what i like!if anyone could give me suggestions on what i need to buy and what brands are good i would really appreciate it!

thanks!

Yeah, 6000k is probably about as high as you want to go in the temperature range. As you go higher than that, you only perceive it to be brighter when in actuality it isn't.

Yup, just the bulbs since you already have the ballasts in your car. As for brands, I can't really help you out there, never dealt with HIDs before. This is my first car with them, I just know a little about them in general.

Look in the Altima Forum for HID threads. They have ordered numerous kits and you can probably find some good brand opinion there.

The Altimas didn't come standard with HIDs, so they have to do a conversion (that's my understanding).

I have Pilot HID Kit 6000k Headlights and 8000k for fog lights on my 06 Camry. It's pretty reliable brand. You can get them on eBay probably cost now $150-180. But you only need the bulbs only.

I just paid $60 for a new pair of 6000k for my Maxima. The set in there lasted 3 years before I had a bulb issue (my fogs are still working fine).

you dont need any types of wires or anything..just straight up bulbs..since pretty much all G's come with HID's..you dont need to buy a ballast cuz the ballast is already on the car powering the stock HID's...i upgraded my 4300K stock HID's to 8000K HID's and it was pretty simple..only took me about 25 mins to take out the old bulbs and put in the new ones. its kind of difficult the way the headlights are placed on the G's..but it was worth going through the hassle..but now that i think about it...8000K isnt all that great..i had to convert my 02 accord sedan to HID's..i also had 8000K on that..and i should have went with 6000K ...as far as brands go...i think philips and piaa are good brands.....HELLA also makes good products but you gotta remember that you're gonna be paying over $100 for a pair of bulbs...hope this helps...good luck with modifying your G37..
