The place that I bought my radio from sells and installs the HID headlights. The guy told me $250 installed (which is less than what the dealer said they would charge me - I think they wanted over $350 if I remember correctly). I asked the guy if that was for 2 lights or for both the high and low beams. He said that it's for two lights (the low beams) and that with the HID lights I would never need to use my high beams again.

Is this true? For the people who have the HID lights, do you have them on both high and low beams, or just low? Does it make sense to install them on both high and low, or is it overkill? I'm really considering getting them (low beams only as the guy suggested) but want to make sure I won't need to have them installed on the high beams later and have to take it back there a second time.

Any feedback to this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

High beam hid will not make a lot of sense to install. You don't use them that often and it takes some time to warm up for hid from 15-45 sec. Until that point most likely you will turn them off. Install hid for low beam only and if you want high beam upgraded then you can get regular 100W halogen bulb with the same color as hid. All hid kits are plug-n-play so you can install it yourself for a lot cheaper than $250.

Totally agree with Leo. I got a Hid kit for low beam and Blue halogen for high beam (5 bucks from ebay). High beam may not look as white as the HID, but it goes great with it though. And the low beam HID kit is really easy to install. I bet you can save heck of a alot of money if you do it yourself.

I had no idea that the HID kits were plug n play. That's really good to know. I haven't researched them very much. They must make a killing doing the installs then if it's that easy. Any sites you'd recommend for purchasing the kits?

Thanks again for the help.

I wouldn't really suggest to search on eBay unless you want to save $10. Ebay have some hid kits from $40-$150 but the best would be to go to one of the big resources such as vleds.com hidplanet.com xtremehids.com etc. starting from about $70-$80.
And make sure you're looking at H11 kit...this the type of your bulb.
