since were on the topic of hids i want to ask a question. Does anyone make a good hid kit for a 1991 240sx with a silvia front end ? I did not know if there would be a difference between a car with popups or projectors, so that is why i asked this question.

there is a difference, popup headlights have a really wide spread beam of light, where a projector finely focuses the beam...which is better for other drivers on the road cuz u wont blind them in oncoming lanes:pface ...there are many many kits for all sorts of cars, just do a search on the internet. try also http://www.misterjung.com , they use a high quality hella ballast.

HID lighting requires a housing designed for HID. HID's have to typically place the arc of the HID where the filament would be. But even with that, HID's produce a LOT of light. Sealed beam headlamps are rather primitive compared to modern halogen lighting. They throw light everywhere and tend to have a relatively small hotspot. This type of of beam pattern coupled with the light output of a HID bulb, the sealed beam housing would blind just about everyone. Modern Halogens can likely get away with it as they have sharper cut-offs and would reduce a lot of the light from reaching oncoming drivers.

But they do have an alternative for those using sealed beam lights. Sylvania makes a replacement housing for sealed beam lights designed with HID in mind:

I seriously want to find a wrecked bimmer and jack the hid system out of it and make it work with my lights. i am in love with that blue angel eye look and would kill to have it. im just not sure if its goin to work at all. other than that id have to buy the 600 kit to convert to hid system on my lights. whatever, theyr still bright as f***.
