im looking into HID lights on ebay. right now, just reading feedbacks. one user posted"Beware that you will loose your hi beam capabilities when you convert to HID."

is that true??? will the infiniti j30 lose hi beam usage????

also, are these good hid light conversion kit??? any thoughts or ideas?? the seller has praised feedbacks saying excellent lights, only bad feedbacks are like "no instructions" or "wrong bulbs shipped".

If you want straight dope on lighting for your car, try this guy. He was recommended by silver 2k2, and I found him to be knowledgable and honest. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/home.html

Be very careful about what you buy on eBay. Some of the stuff can be a very good deal, but only if you really know what you need and what you are getting. Other's are not so too very good, selling cheap Chinee knock-offs, copies, and phony "OEM" stuff. I sometimes think the term "caveat emptor" was written for eBay, even before it was around. Some members here have unwittingly created electrical problems by buying and installing substandard bulbs, even burning up bulb holders, connectors, and wiring, as well as causing strange problems in other electrical and electronic components. Infinitis seem to be funny that way, so be careful. Check out the many threads here that involve strange electrical glitches to see for yourself.

Daniel Stern will help you pick the best lights for your car, and also recommend and sell you any additional stuff like wiring, relays, etc. that you may need.

I did not find his prices to be too high, but reasonable considering he only sells first-rate stuff. You can E-mail him, his address is available through his site. I did, and he was very helpful and informative. I am buying a set of high-output halogen high beam bulbs from him that no one else seemed to even know about, and he provided a diagram showing how to do the only simple mod to the base to make it fit in my car. My high beams will now produce around 2530 lumens instead of 1700 with little increase in current draw, not enough to require wiring changes.

Check it out.
