today i saw that one of my headlights was out!! I rushed home, thinking it was the fuse....realized i had a 15amp fuse instead of 20 in that side.....but the fuse didnt look blown. OH SNAP. but i threw in a new 20A fuse and...good as new. thank god. to be on the safe side ima steal all sizes of heatshrink tubing form work and coat the wires AND ballast box. Winters coming and i love my HID's i dont want them to crap out theyve worked flawless since i installed them over a month ago

i bought them on ebay from a seller in ontario, their 6000k iceberg blue. they give off a light blueish purple kinda, not the dark blue taht are so popular from ebay. The long distance visibility is rediculous. They light up street signs a block away, and driving on a 3 lane road all three lanes are lit up. The glare is high, but not as bad as some cars ive seen, plus the colour is KIND of gentler on the eyes than that deep blue or hyper white. Ive never gotten any high beams back in anger and i keep my distance behind other vehicles and they usually stay in my lane the whole time. I havent gotten any angry drivers.....they kind of look oem to be honest. I just wish i could aim them a little lower as they do point straight forward (not up) and i dont need such a distance in light. Im guna tint my lights to see if it reduces glare a bit, it seems to do so for rogers, he put 20% tint and hes using his HIGH beams and it seems like normal light. I think 35% or 20% will do the trick ill try both. Im going to do a special HID thread, with qx4/pathfinder specific installation pics and the best places to put the ballasts n stuff. And post all my pics so that when future users want to install HID's well have a single thread with all the info they need

i wanna contribute to this forum! lol

ps i absolutely love the HID's. i look forward to driving at night now. my night vision is terrible so these are definately of use to me. The kit was "designed in germany made in china" type deal. The box had a white porsche on it, its actually a nice lookign kit even teh ballasts have the porsche on them lol the name was Helleigkieit HID...cheap german knockoff i assume. Shipping and everything cost $90 plus the $18 to get the new ballast to replace the defective one (some warranty eh)

in all it was a great upgrade and im happy as long as they keep working great as they have been.

exoect that HID thread sometime this weekend guys maybe ill post a video too for you

I've been lookin to get an HID kit for my pathy but after reading hundreds of reviews of how bad they glare, and yada yada... I've almost changed my mind, but I don't understand how reflector headlights can glare with an HID but not halogen, and also a lot of infinitis hav hid with reflector headlights...

Plus I would get like 5000k hid cause I hate non-projection blue headlights, their so annoying. So you only paid 100$ for that kit? seems cheap.

yep $100 and in my opinion......even if i paid $200 itd be the same thing. its just a bunch of wholesalers with stuff from china competing. If i were you...get darked out headlights like slickrogers...the chrome isnt there inside the housing so im sure HID would be awesome inside...not available on qx4's. and the 2001+ Q's have a seperate housing inside the headlight for the HID. theres no glare at all its perfect HID on the newer q's.

if your aiming for the white HID's their just as if not more annoying than the blue ones. believe me they are BLINDING blue is easier on the eyes id say.

hmmm, Ill prolly just through in the bulbs I just bought off of ebay and see if their whiter than my silverstars, I wont bother with HID kits...

I did like the black housing JDM headlights but I've recently changed my mind on them, I dont think they'd look good with my paint job.
