WARING: Project is not done yet

Ok, been working on this project for about a month now (research, waiting for parts , and going back and forth to the store included) and I got one projector mounted and got the rotation straight already.

This is how it looks like now: TSX Projector with trimmed e46 shrouds. Will have FK lenses

What do you guys think? too flashy? Opinions and suggestions are welcomed

Thank you. Yeah, i'm not a big fan of the flashiness, but without the shroud you would be able to see my work (even though you could still see part of the brackets and screws)

mmmm....

My big problem with projector retrofits is that most ppl don't take the time to make a decent shroud. You seem to have figured out a great way to make it work. Kudos!

I hope you're taking lots of pics and are planning on posting a DIY write-up...

I think my main issue with this upgrade is that the clear lenses look really doesn't match up well with the Zenki front end, so it turns out looking a bit ricey/gaudy.

To each his own... show me some clear lenses with actual projectors inside of them so I can see what you are talking about.

Well here it is: Just ignore the crooked bumper (looks more crooked with grill!). New OE paint coming soon.

This is the RH. Not too shabby.

They are aimed a little high, but WOW! HID lights are awesome. Out put is great on these TSX projectors. If i'm standing in front of my car with the lights on I can only see small cirlces of light, not the whole headlight assy lit up like those PNP kits. It was alot of work and time consuming, but I am glad I did it. Only thing is I wish I would of done it on some JDM housings since those have the high beams in separate housings, so I could aim the highs and lows separatly? IDK

Anyone got some JDM housings they wanna sell me on the cheap? I think I can do a cleaner job if I redo them now that I know exactly what to do.

I like this project. Keep it up!

Not sure how cheap you're talking, but I found these on Ebay:

Am I the only one who doesn't like clear lenses? I think the plastic or euro glass looks 100x better.

I don't agree. The clear lenses create a more contemporary or updated look for Zenki's than the antiquated fluted style lenses, IMO.

Why do you think automakers discarded that technology? Because it lacks visual appeal and reduces your light output.

I'm a fan of the fluted look on Zenki's. If you're worried about the yellowing, get the EDM glass ones. Same sh*t as the USDM ones except they're glass so they won't yellow.

Well I wasnt a very big fan of the clear lenses either. I actually had a set and sold them before I ever put them on my car but however, I attended Import Alliance in TN this past weekend and came across this S14 with retro'd Murano projectors and the Supermade clear lenses......looks AWESOME IMO
