That is perfectly fine! I am just listing all the possible options too.auditech10 wrote:Not to knock Joe T. but dealership cost on these bulbs is still double if not more than my contact's price.
Did the 02 Q have projectors? You might need D2s bulbs.auditech10 wrote:Im not sure how easy or hard it is to replace on a Y33 Q45, but I can refer you to a seller that I have done plenty of business with in the past. You will need to get D2R bulbs. The bulbs he sells are OEM brands Philips and I believe he also has Osram. I would stay away from aftermarket bulbs with different color ratings than OEM but the choice is yours.Cheers
Thanks for the contact man because his prices are right on. I've been in contact with him by using your link and he has the bulbs for my Q but states I need D2S and not D2R as you and others suggested. He says he goes by an application guide and even told me the site which is {www.sylvania.com} Just place your mouse over consumer products and automotive lightning apperas as an option to click on. Lamp replacement guide will be an option after that.auditech10 wrote:Im not sure how easy or hard it is to replace on a Y33 Q45, but I can refer you to a seller that I have done plenty of business with in the past. Thanks for clearing that up and the Ebay guy agrees as well. Now, can anyone tell me how dificult it is to put these bad boys in. I looked under the hood and I seen a cover behing the low beam area that must expose the bulb to be pulled. Both sides look tight but the battery being removed on one side may relieve it a bit. I'm concerned will I encounter something I'm not familiar with after removing the covers.auditech10 wrote:Your 99Q takes D2R bulbs, D2S bulbs will not fit your headlights. It must be a missprint or something if it says otherwise. It should say on the outer lense of your headlights as well.Cheers
Then he doesn't know schnizzle from shinola. Sylvania is wrong and I have written them about this. The FGY33 is a reflector type headlight and uses D2R. The F50 is a projector type and uses D2S.totaljett wrote:He says he goes by an application guide and even told me the site which is {www.sylvania.com}
It is not a standard Torx. It is a security bit because of the nipple in the middle of the star pattern. That is the point. Nothing is "secure."lakeq45 wrote:I got the Torx set from Sears. Security my A$$. If someone has your hood up and time to take out the battery and airbox to get the HID bulbs. Then I think a torx screw is not going to slow them down.
When I looked under the hood I knew the battery had to be removed and was in denial about the airbox, although you confirmed it as well as my own eyes . Good looking out on the Torx bit because I had no idea. I was willing to remove the battery but now I got a mild case of " ah damn " when it comes to the airbox.maxnix wrote:Then he doesn't know schnizzle from shinola. RTFSM!
The battery and airbox must be removed and you must have the correct security Torx bit. Call of email me once they are out and I can guide you. If you are anal and want the color temperature to be the same, buy two bulbs, preferably Sylvania. Be careful as not all eBay sellers are honest. If it is too cheap, something is not Kosher.
Yeah, thats who I'm ordering from. I just have to decide by the time they get here will I put them in or pay someone to . I may be making to much of removing the airbox and might just install them myself.lakeq45 wrote:Had the same buld go out on my 01. I order a pair from http://myworld.ebay.com/akinaboy I think they were right at $100 shipped. They have been in for about 6 months now and working fine.

Don't even. Airbox is a breeze.totaljett wrote: I just have to decide by the time they get here will I put them in or pay someone to . I may be making to much of removing the airbox and might just install them myself.
Finally got around to ordering that bulb from your guy. Thanks for the reference, it save me much cash. Realized he even had used ones which he suggested if just changing one side. I agreed and ordered one for just $32 bucks after a %10 ebay coupon. Had it installed by one of my guys for $10 bucks. I know I know but I haven't purchased the special torx yet and really didin't want to bother with it. Color looks just like my other bulb.auditech10 wrote:Im not sure how easy or hard it is to replace on a Y33 Q45, but I can refer you to a seller that I have done plenty of business with in the past.
