Need some input on on where to get some HID's. My last set were from DDM tunning and they worked great for a while. Now I need something new and they have the worst reviews and I am not trying to deal with non shipment of parts like a lot of people have. Only thing is I am not trying to spend an arm and a leg... Anyway are there any sources you guys can lead me to? Thanks.

Hi

DDM if you want to NOT spend a arm and a leg.... but if you want good quality use RetroFit http://www.theretrofitsource.com/ Retro will cost a bit more but the quality is great... you might want to check the official lighting thread also great info in there.....
I have DDM in my fogs and Retro 55w/6k in my lows.... looks nice... :dblthumb:

I second The Retrofit Source. I've posted this little blurb before, but I will say it again. It is estimated that up 75% of bulbs sold by US and non-US sellers on Amazon, Ebay, Craig's, etc are cheap knock-offs with expert design to appear to be true Phillips, Osram, etc. The Retrofit Source is one of very few places who buy the bulbs direct from the manufacturer instead of a wholesaler. You will pay a higher price there, but you will also NEVER get a fake bulb. All their products are high quality and so is the level of customer service. I use the Osram 66240 CBIs for my low beam (H2S) and they truly amaze.
For LED bulbs, it's the same. Lots of cheap knock-offs or bulbs listed as 'super bright' that are basically rubbish. I recommend Vleds for any size LED bulb. Again, you will pay a little more, but you will only pay it once and they light as good and as reliable from day one to forever.

Larz, your bulbs are D2S, but otherwise your post is on point.

I also use TRS (and used to use DDM).

Maybe Im cheap but 150 for HID's seems high. How do their parts differ than the rest to justify that price? Are the bulbs noticeably different with their clarity or brightness compared to others?

A lot of the time it's real bulbs vs knock-off. This will show itself in the amount of lumens the bulbs put out. A cheap knock-off might be the same temp (kelvin) but put out 1000 less lumens (bad).
