So I'm looking into getting HID's for my coupe. Both lo's and fog's. I want to know what the difference is if I were to just get 6000K H11 bulbs and swap them out with the factory 4300K in my coupe as opposed to getting a "HID Kit". What is the difference in the two? Is it the same outcome for both scenarios? Is it with the kit you just have ballast and wiring? What is the difference in the two? Thanks in advance to any help

if u have HID's already (premium) you can simply buy the bulbs and replace them.

if you did not have HID's stock, THAT is when you would need the ballast.

thirdly you can buy an aftermarket ballast if you want, and replace the one you have, maybe there are 'higher end' aftermarket ones? (idk shooting in the dark here)

hey your best bet is to order d2s bulbs as replacements. the factory bulbs have coveres halfway on them to reduce glare which makes them not as bright. running a d2s bulb wont cause much glare it will just get you alot more light output. all you need to do is make a tiny cut on the base of the d2s bulb to get them to fit, its simple and best way is with a dremel

Well my 3.5 SE did come with stock HID's, 4300K. I'm swapping out those bulbs for the 6000K I bought from DDMTuning.

HID's for the foglights, any idea where the kits are and any ideas on where to mount the ballast? Does anyone have a video or post on installing HID foglights for the altima coupes?

HID Fog's: http://www.ddmtuning.com/produ....html

Definitely can't beat lifetime warranty. As far as where to mount the ballast, i myself am not sure. There is a sticky with instructions on installation through the wheel well and it has pics of where people mounted it.

Thanks!

Does anyone have any recommendations for placement of the ballast or installation instructions? I do not want to have to get a mechanic to do it and pay them 100$ or so to install the lights. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Any suggestions on color for the HID fogs? I currently have just the stock HID's in for my car (premium package).
