So I attempted to install my HIDs

The power connector to the stock bulb does not want to connect to the ballast. It looks like the prongs on the ballast are to wide to fit into the stock power source.

These two connectors

Do not want to do this

These are the H11 bulbs so whats up?

I bought them off ebay . . .

Some options would be:1. Get them to send you a new kit, perhaps they sent the wrong one or the connector is defective.2. Check to see if the indexing tab is oriented the right way. I think a few of those pnp kits are notorious for having the tab on the wrong side of the connector. If it is, you may can shave down the tab, switch the wires, get a new plug and solder it on yourself or see #1.

Most Xentecs have this problem, you either have one of two issues. Yours came already with the prongs inside a small black piece or second you put the prongs into the black piece. Either way this black piece does not fit onto the factory harness is most cases.

The problem i believe your having is where in the pic the factory harness and ballast connect, with yours theres a black piece. it looks like this:

In order to fix this you will need to break the black piece using a small hammer and plyers. First try to just pull the prongs out of the black piece by grasping where the prongs turn into a wire going to the ballast and then use plyers or your other hand on the black piece and pull opposite ways. If the black piece was already connected usually in the case of the slim ballasts there will be a rubber piece that needs to be removed, it simply can be ripped off.

Now once the prongs are exposed plug them into the factory harness they should sit snug in there. Fire up the HIDS to make sure you got the + and - connections right then turn them off. After that get some electrical water resistant tape and tape them tightly together.

Enjoy your HIDS!

Woot, Thx DaCoupe!

Will try this asap! Just was a little hesitant to break the black part and not be able to return or exchange.

No problem bro, theres always those aftermarket parts that need to be modified to work, good luck and enjoy those HIDs!

I had that black piece and it fit just fine for all of my four HIDs. I do remember that there is a particular way you have to put the two metal ends of the wires to make it lock into that black piece.
