I installed an aftermarket set of 6000k H11 HID's in my altima and its been a few months and now the left HID flickers and turns off. I've installed many hid kits (aftermarket not stock replacements) before on many different cars and this has never happened to me. Can it be that im running a touch screen head unit and 2 jl audio 12 with a 500/1 amp with no capacitor on the subs?..cant do anything about it right now but i'll take a look tomorrow and see whats up. The kit that i bought was off ebay and the brand was xentec. I've heard they are pretty good and they seemed like a reasonable price for the kit..please help me!!!

you may need a wiring harness. that usually solves the issue of the lights not firing up, that way the lights will draw power directly from the battery instead of the stock wiring harness which wasn't designed to support hid's.

thanks for the information and i figured that was the problem..but this morning i woke up and got right to work..the bad side of the car was the drivers side..so i took the bulb out and switched it with the passenger side...and to my amazement it worked..so then i put the passenger bulb to the driver side..that didnt fire up...so then i swapped the ballasts and turns out the ballast wasnt working right..its weird because i was under the impression that all the ballast did was convert power from the stock 55w halogens to the aftermarket 35w HID's...but im going ahead and buying a replacement ballast and relay harness...seems to be the easiest solution....next on my list is going to be the "big 3" upgrade..seeing that i have no capacitor to my audio system and i've heard that capacitors arent really worth it.

thanks

I think one of my ballasts broke again. I think im going to spend the money and get a mcculough kit and not the cheap ebay ones. In like 14 months I have had 2 ballasts fail.

And I do have a wiring harness.

what brand did you buy? ddmtuning has a lifetime warranty on their kits
