HID nightshot

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Can someone post a picture w/ their aftermarket HID low beam night shot taking from the driver's point of view looking forward? I searched the forum but didn't find any pics taken at such angle. I like to see how much 'road coverage' we'll get w/ aftermarket HID into halogen projectors. I've seen pictures of cut off line and also pictures taken from looking at the light, but again couldn't find pictures taken from the driver's point of view looking forward (w/out fog lights on, just low beams). Appreciate that.

thx

Okay, give me a few minutes I will see if I can take a few quick shots from my phone. In the time being I am not sure if this will help but I took a video in a open parking lot with my HID's, can give you an idea from me sitting the passenger seat turning my HID Fog On and Off. Maybe a bad example since there is a lot of lights around me, but looks a lot brighter in person, but feel compared to my other HID installs, it could be better (You can still tell even with all the bright lights if you look past the garbage can, you'll see it hitting the wall.

These are sample pics of my EX35 with 6000K , currently I`m using 5000k (Which is much brighter).

Thx all... But any pix (night shot) w/out objects in front? I like to see how 'wide' and 'far' the beam gets to.

Sorry for the delay. Let me know if these help. 6000k 35W Digital HID Kit, Slim Ballasts, Low Beams on Only. Might be just the particular kit but I would prefer a projector retrofit, I feel the light doesn't hid the ground enough, feels to light of a color. Would've done a 55W Kit but didn't want to burn out my factory harness.

@zarar, I am having trouble getting the pictures displayed. I kept seeing the dots circling (like loading).

@zarar
6000K seems a bit weak. I used to have one of those and decided to change it to 5000k. 5000K is bright enough for me.... I know retrofit is the way to go, but try 5000k first and you`ll be amazed if compare against the 6000K...

I have a picture of the stock EX35 with HID 5000K and the one with retrofitted TSX projector with Osram 66240CBI 5000K.

Note: I noticed that if I open with IE9, it doesn't show the image(s). Firefox works fine.

How costly would a retrofit be if it were to be done through a shop? Definitely considering that or changing out my halogen headlights for the factory hid headlights. My current setup seems to dim, feels like im using blue coated halogen bulbs

If you have to buy a new / used set of headlights assembly, that would run you from 350-600 (depends new / used)... Then there are parts (HID bulbs, cables, projectors, lens,shroud, ballasts etc) which will run around 350 or so. Another 200-300 for labor if you choose to hire someone to do. So we are probably talking 1000 or more to get it right. There are lots of forums talking about retrofiting HID projectors, alot of them were done VERY NICELY. Beautiful cut off (better than OEM) and very very wide (and far) beam pattern.

A little less if I were to park my car in a driveway and retrofit my existing headlights, I suppose? So about 700 for parts & labor, I'm not on big on modifying so for me would be worthy investment.

@zarar, 700 would be if u have to buy extra set of headlight assembly. But if you are willing to not drive the vehicle for a week or two, you can take off the exiting headlight assembly to do the retrofit. Save you a few hundred $
