Hello, I just had HID lights installed on my 2005 Maxima. Im having problems now with my auto on headlights...sometimes one comes on but not the other & next time the other comes on. I asked the place that installed the HID kit and they are telling me that aftermarket HID's dont work well with AUTO headlights because of voltage ?

Is this true ? ami going to burn something out if i leave my auto lights on ?

first of all did you install just the bulbs or a conversion kit?? coz i thought all the 6th gens came with hid lights ans second if its a conversion kit did the kit plug directly into the oem harness or is it the kit that had to get a direct line from the battery? and its not true i installed a hid kit on my 01 max and it has auto lights works fine it was a plug and play kit

I have no idea how they installed it. I believe it was a kit. The 05 Maxima's without the driver preferred PKG didnt come with HID

well do you know the brand and the model of the kit? and you saying that both lights work but not at the same time?sounds more like a wiring issue, turn the headlights on and see if both work (not auto by the switch). the dude is lying i got auto lights on my car and the hid kit works great . also check to see if it takes current directly from the battery (additional wires comming out of the battery) or a plug and play unit

wow thats confusing guess its a plug and play kit coz he said its b/c of the voltage, but for what i know voltage can't cause any thing like that and if its on by switch or auto still gets the same voltage. sorry man i have no idea on that, thats why i dont trust other ppl to do my thing i'd rather do it even if i might break it. good luck with it pretty sure someone here might be able to help, also try contacting the company that made the kit

i installed a 10,000K HID kit into my Cefiro One piece headlights. The bulb size is H4. Look good and its plug n play! Set it up in 5-7 minutes

Thats BS! This means one of the HID's are hitting METAL or GROUND or are arching to GROUND! DANGER!SYMPTOM: one goes on the other doesnt ,they can alternate from one or another. you can test it by pulling the bulbs out and try em that way,I bet they work fine.....even with AUTOI would get this fixed pronto. This can damage the bulbs ,the ballasts or something in your car.A fix is to get the bulbs to sit back farther.I had a aftermarket pair of HIDs like this and just simply changed the bulbs and now they are fine.Look on ebay, they have replacement bulbs that DO FIT CORRECTLY.If this bozo doesnt know how to fix it ,then he doesnt know much.I have a 2001 maxima with H4s ,I sheilded one side and have a great pattern and they do NOT arch.So better talk to the installer, sounds like they just dont know. On the H4 dual bulb, simply take a tin-snipped piece of metal and separate the HIGH beam from the low to reduce lights that blare all over or hit trees. An easy way to set em up is park next to your garage and make sure the HIGH beams are lined up right.(they work) .Its a PITA to set up aftermarket ones.Mine rock vs the best BMW's. Have fun,I hope you get em fixed.Im on yahoo.Peace-

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TOLD ABOUT HID KITS AND AUTOMATIC SETTINGS:

Will DRL (daytime running lights) or Auto-Switch-On effect the HID kit?

For vehicles with DRL (daytime running lights) that use the same bulb for both DRL and low beam, you will need to deactivate your DRL. Most DRL operate on reduced wattage or fluctuating current levels. This will cause the HID ballast and bulb to flicker and burn out prematurely
