hey guys

I recently have been searching for high quality hid's. My final decision is that the CATZ hid system was the best kit available. I jus wanted to know what experiences you guys had with HID kits and your opnions on the quality of different brands of HID kits. I decided to order from liteswap.com, I think they are the only authorized U.S. dealers and plus they are willing to offer 240sx.org members a discount. I'll post pics of the kit when I get it.

I don't know much about Catz, but I've read that Phillips HID are some of the best. See how Catz compares to Philips. http://www.eur.lighting.philip....htmlAlso, has anyone tried to use a OEM HID system? Seems like you could pull the entire system from a Maxima or Infiniti for a pretty good price.

I think they have there kit listed at $490 and we get a 10% discount. I'm not sure cuz I dont think that I was able to get a discount when I purchased my kit, I just got them to do a discount after i bought my kit for other people on the board. The thing about phillips kits, is that there isnt a phillips kit. There are components of the phillips used in a kit but no real kit made by phillips. That's where the quality issue comes in, I wanted a kit made by one company, not a kit glued together by some guy in his garage (ebay kits). I thought aboiut retrofitting a bmw projector like a previous 240 owner did but, I was afraid that my install would be crooked or something.

Well from what I saw on liteswap.com, I have a few concerns with these Catz kits . They mentioned something aboit using a "tinted" bulb one of the kits. I dont think tinted bulbs have a place in an HID kit.I've done some general research into HIDs, but I never really looked into different brands. I didnt realize that Philips doesnt sell a complete kit, only components. Who else makes HID kits??

Iwannas15, One of the catz system does use tinted bulbs (5500k kit) the other two 4500k and 6000k are not tinted. Yea I thought it was kinda weird for them to use a tint on the 5000k bulb, but use a different gas mixture to get the purple color on the 6000k kit. I got the 4500k kit, I didnt want too much blue and tinted bulbs either. I will get pics when I get them installed. Be sure to let me know what you think then. Thanks

I think mcculloch is the only other company that has their own kit. I could be wrong here, but there bulbs are either really yellow or really blue (tinted).

I could get SPW HID Plus 7000k kits for $430, my wholesale price. All applications available.
