Hey Guys - I'm noticing that one of my HID's is turning on but then goes off after 5 seconds or so (it's also a noticible purble / blue vs. white/yellow on the other side). Ballast possibly? If it's turning on the ignitor should be eliminated along with the bulb but I'm not an expert so any feedback / suggestions are appreciated in advance. Thanks (97K Miles)!

The light bulb is definitely out, you just need a new one to replace it. check your owners manual for the bulb size. i think it was H11 but correct me if im wrong

sounds like the ballast. Swap the bulbs to see if it is indeed the bulb. If not it is the ballast

if you car is under warranty, let the dealership do it. Might as well let them mess something up and have them pay for it than you try and do it yourself and pay with your arm and leg...

el_blacky06- stock HID from the altima (and various other nissan/infiniti cars) are D2R...the H11 is for those who have halogen lights and want to convert to HID (aftermarket) or replace a blown bulb.
