hum... well, i took these with a camera phone... so they might not be very good indicators.

So apparently, one bulb of my HID kit is "bad"... though I wonder if its because I touched it (I think I did with my bare finger).
In any case, I ordered another HID kit, Xentec brand, but still 10000k. Hopefully, it'll be better, maybe a little brighter too, if it's better "quality". The reason I ordered a full kit was because just the Xentec bulbs were already $75... so $100 for the bulbs, ballasts and wiring sounded like it would be worth it to get Xentec branded ballasts too. I think this, both in case my current ballasts are flaky... and because I feel a little more comfortable with parts that should (theoretically) be the most compatible... as parts from the same company should be.
As for the current bad bulb. My best guess is that the metal salts aren't vaporizing fast enough. The bulb will get the initial high output blast, but when it switches over to continuous mode, it flickers. Before, I noticed that the bad bulb didn't stay on when I started the PF (I usually leave the switch on ON). But it didn't happen often, maybe twice in the first two months. But in the last two or three weeks, it's happened a LOT and on top of that, once it's on, the bulb has a chance of going out even after a few minutes of driving.
My only solution thus far... flip the lights on and off until the light seems consistent (each initial blast heats up the metal salts a little). After a while... the lights will work normally for the rest of the night. Of course the next day, I have to repeat the whole thing.
I read somewhere that flipping the lights on and off more than say 3 times in one hour is bad... so I expect my current kit to be in REALLY bad shape because of my "solution." Unfortunately, my job is doing deliveries... which means the lights will go ON and OFF more then 3 times an hour.
