I own a 2000 Inf. I30 Tour Ed. I just pulled out a burnt headlight bulb on the drivers side, and took it to the auto store for a replacement. I was blown away when the guy at the counter told me the cheapest one he could find in their inventory was $130 + tax! Are you kidding me? I was told by the parts guy that conversion kits are probably available for a different kind of bulb, but after lurking online, I'm not sure what I should be looking for. Any advice on this? What I'm looking for is a conversion kit that will allow me to use a more reasonably priced bulb, I'm not looking to trick my car out with something even more expensive.

HID lamps are expensive, yes. However, they also last much longer than traditional halogen lamps, and provide vastly superior illumination.

Unfortunately you'll almost certainly end up spending more to convert to halogen than you will buying a replacement HID lamp.

Shop around for D2R lamps and see if you can find a better deal. I'm sure you can find them for under $100 easily on ebay.

Here's another link to the replacement lamp listing above if that one doesn't work. You'll just need to tell it which car you need lamps for.http://www.sylvania.com/Consum...Guide/
