Well I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to take the headlight assembly out on my 2000 I30? And is it easy to take off the ballast? Are they expensive? It just started flickering off and then went completely out. Thanks

the ballast should be connected to the headlight, check voltage at the bulb if u have volts after the ballast then it would be the bulb bulbs are more common, taking out wont be bad about half an hour hope the helps

^+1 but be careful - the ballast produces what...10? 20000 volts? don't get zapped

If the other side is good, just swap the bulbs to troubleshoot.

Welcome to NICO!

My guess here is that the HIDs are aftermarket? Thus the ballast would not be attached to the headlight assembly. I guess my reasoning for this is that I was under the impression that I30's did not come with HIDs stock.
