Ok, a few weeks ago I bought TWO HID fog kits for my M35 Sport because I wanted to make sure they matched the 6K HID's and City Light LEDs I already have installed. Well Monday I went to connect the lights and I got nothing at all, even tried reversing the polarity on the ballast itself and it still didn't fire, so I tried the second kit and the same results persisted. :wtf2: I then plugged them into a Honda Pilot AND a 1990's GMC truck and they worked on both of them, but when I plugged them back into my M, nothing. The ballast are 35W and the OEM fogs work fine without any issue, is there something I'm missing or doing wrong here? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, my stockies still work and even that doesn't make sense to me. I haven't tried flashing my high beams, but how does that work when the fogs turn off when you turn the high beams on?

I have a set of 5K HIDs I purchased and planned on installing but after doing a couple searching and reading issues about our cars and HID ballasts, I chose to go with Hoen Endurance Xenon Match bulbs. Very very pleased with these. They match our OEM HID headlights very well.

How much did they cost and do they last long? On my previous Maxima I had aftermarket fogs but I had to change the bulbs every year and that got annoying. I plan to change my fogs to HID's as well but am open to an easier or better alternative.

Thanks

I used to be a HUGE supporter of the cheap DDM kits and the like, but no more. You get what you pay for.

Checkout their website hoen-usa.com. The bulbs were about $40 shipped to the door. Do a google search on Hoen bulbs and you will see just how high quality they are. Probably one of the more expensive non HID bulbs you can buy. Very very high quality. I had them on 07 TL Type S, wife's 08 Honda Pilot, and ran a set of Hoen Endurance (yellow) and Hoen Xenon Match in my M45. I will not be using my 5K HID kit for my fogs because I am so pleased with these bulbs.

I dont have one of my Hoen Xenon match, but I will try to get one tonight. Below is a picture of the Hoen Endurance bulbs I had for the longest. They are more brilliant yellow that any other yellow bulb/hid kit I've used in the past also.

Well I replaced my HID lights to 6k and was looking to color match the HID fogs as well. So buying just a bulb probably wouldn't work since it 5k.

A quick iphone pic of the Hoen Xenon Match bulbs. They are pretty much spot on and recommend these bulbs for anyone trying to color match their OEM hids.

Thanks, what bulb size do I need to order and did you notice a significant upgrade over the OEM fogs?

H11 is the bulb for our foglights. Honestly I wouldn't say there is a "significant" upgrade in lumens compared to the oem foglight bulbs, but it is noticeable and looks "cleaner." If you are specifically concerned with lumens, an oem color temp hid kit cannot compare to a halogen bulb. I am ecstatic with these bulbs and will no longer go through the hassle of installation or troubleshooting HIDs anymore.

I am looking for something that gives me more light then I currently get from my fogs. If I turn my fogs off while driving I hardly notice the differnece then when they are on. If not for the symbol on the dash I wouldn't know they were on while driving. So if these bulbs give me more light then I get now and more then I would get by going to HID fogs then I will get these bulbs.

Thanks

If the foglights bulbs are off or on, you truly will not be able to tell because of how low our fog lights are and these are only halogen bulbs. I can speak of my Hoen Endurance bulbs during dense fog. These bulbs truly made a different and a strong contrast during this time. Other than that, I really couldn't tell either if they were on or off on clear nights. I dont believe any halogen halogen bulb can compare to an hid's bulb when it comes to brightness of pure light. HID's come with their 20,000+ volt ballast/transformer converting the voltage to 12 watts. All and all, I am very happy with these bulbs. Sorry if this doesn't help....lol.
