I am looking at purchasing a slim design ballast with a H11 application bulb.

I know how to install it : the problem I'm having is that I did not take ownership of the car at this point : I have no idea if I need to also buy he harness or everything is already in with my leather HID package.

I had no problems installing HID fogs without a relay harness for my 3.5 premium.

phobs.. is your hid fog light kit a simple plug and play kit?did u have to remove the bumper or can it be installed under the front bumper (like the way we would replace fog light bulbs?)

also what is the price and color temp for your yellow fogs? i have the luminics jdm yellow which give a nice look for my fogs..but i would like a ton more light output on the road itself for night driving.

No, I am not too fond of Xentecs. I bought DDM slim kits because they are local for me and provide a lifetime warranty which is very convenient for me.

Yes, the DDM HID kit was simply plug and play and I did remove my bumper to easily mount my ballasts and make the installation much easier. If you are looking for a pure yellow look, I suggest you stick with halogen bulbs. 3000k HIDs will omit a white light if stared directly at the front of the car but on the ground will output a ion yellow color.

Sorry I don't but their pricing is pretty justifiable with their lifetime warranty

phobs....

i have a follow up question on the ddm hid kit...it gives an option for an "upgrade to 55watt" did you opt for this ??

also: the ddm site says the kits:"Kits are not recommended for smaller fog light housings because they tend to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area."

did you opt for the 35 watt due to the size of the foglight housing? or 55watt

and.. did u buy (BOW3 and HID HARNESS sold separately)??

lastly... do we need the waning code eliminator or any other accessories.. in order for the kits to work properly?>

sorry for all the questions..

55watt is overkill and not really worth the extra money in my opinion. 35watt already produces much more lumens than just your regular halogen bulbs. Our fog light housings should be fine with the 35watt HIDs, H11 halogen bulbs alone are already 55watts. I did not buy any relay harness and had no trouble with any codes. I bought simply just the kit and plug in and play .

I wouldn't see a problem. They been really busy with their sales so you guys might get them in a few weeks. It took around 3 weeks to receive mine.

Okay, I know as much about HID lights as I do about brain surgery, so I apologize in advance for the following moronic questions.

1) Will the DDM kit be plug-n-play on a base 3.5 coupe? IE - do the bulbs just replace the halogens, and the stock cable plug into the rest of the kit? I realize I will need to somehow mount the ballast too.

2) Will 35W/5000K HID fogs get me a lot of headlight flashing from oncoming vehicles, or does the fog light angle keep the light low enough to be tolerable? I don't want to be switching the fogs on and off like hi-beams.

Thanks from the HID-challenged.

Yes the DDM kit will be plug and play. The whole set up is really simple and there should be instructions if you were to get confused. This is where I mounted my passenger side ballast and visa versa using 3M double sided tape, it holds really well.

HIDs in the fog light housing will produce a moderate amount of glare because it has no shield unlike our headlights, but it's tolerable. I also believe you can adjust the angle of the fog light so it's all good

Thanks, phobs! I work night shift and live in the country so better lighting is a worthwhile add-on for me.... especially with all the wildlife I have almost smoked! Looks like HID fogs just moved to the top of the list.

thanks for the info phobs..

just one last question i swear lol

if i went with the 55 watt one.. do u forsee any problems that i might have with that set? ? thanks in advance.. i cant wait till i have the $$ to order the hid fogs. i was always used to having piia plasma ion yellow 1200's or 1500 xt's on my old cars... and they pushed out lots of light! .. the luminics jdm yellow bulbs honestly.. dont do it for me.. they look nice but honestly thats it. they dont help out jack ish for lighting the road but i kinda knew that would be the case when i bought them... i just didnt have the knowledge on hid's for fogs at the time

Not too many people get 55watt and I haven't experienced with them myself. The only problem I can see is the amount of heat a 55watt HID produces, but since our fog lamps are tolerable with 55watt halogen bulbs, it might be able to tolerate 55watt HIDs .

code... it can be almost as simple as just replacing the fog light bulbs... which can be done without removing the bumper.. just removing the black plastic piece/cover thats held in by the black clip-rivets.

i replaced my fog bulbs with luminics and didnt have to remove the bumper.. it was a pain in the butt BUT i think it might have been better if i jacked up the front of the car on 2 jack-stands.or i think you might be able to do it by going thru the fender wall and removing those clips/screws??

I took off the bumper so I can mount the ballasts and connect all the wiring more easily. I recommend you get a helping hand if you were to take off the bumper and place some painters tape around the edges of the fender so in case you won't scratch the paint.
