Has anyone tried HID for their fog lights? Someone told me that HID can be kind of finicky and mess up other functions in your car because they require so much power. My headlights are already HID but I want to make my fog lights HID as well just wanted to know if it was going to mess anything up...

I think its powering up the HIDs that take alot of power. So what one should do is not have the Fogs turn on at the same time.

That being said; do you use your highbeams much? Because if so I would advise against HID fogs. When you turn on the highbeams the foglights go out, so if you use your highbeams they will flicker on and off a lot.

DDM makes an awesome kit:

H11, 35 watt is what you want for the fogs ;)

I was worried about power consumption when I was looking for fogs, too.. but I haven't heard of anyone having an issue with HID lows and fogs. In the end, I went with LED fogs just to be safe. They're bright, match my 6000K low beams, have super low power consumption, and are a little cheaper than HIDs.

I had a set in my old coupe, no problems at all. The only issue is glare from the fogs since the housing is not meant to output light like that.

They're on rarely; create glare but did not create any electrical issues here

What about these, guys? I came across these on eBay and would be very interested in an application sort of like this, but don't feel like doing a major hack job to get these to work.

When I changed out my front fascia to the Stillen one I used mini fog light projectors from PIAA and threw in a set of DDM 6K 35W HIDs. They work really well and they look cool :yesnod

I just ordered 8000k Lows and Fogs for mine. I'll let you know if I run into any problems.
