Has anyone installed an aftermarket HID conversion kit in their Murano? If so does it work O.K. with light output similar to the OEM? My daughter is purchasing a 2010 S model which has the halogen lights but she likes the HID lights that are in my 2007 MO. Told her that I would upgrade them on her 2010. Saw kits on Ebay that sell for less than $100.but don't know if they are any good.

The hardest problem in installing a HID kit is getting to the bulbs. The rest is plug and play. Just be careful on selecting the bulb color as the higher the K the lower the light output. Factory bulb color is around 4300K, the higher the number the bluer the light.

I would suggest purchasing from DDM Tuning ( http://www.ddmtuning.com ), as they have a lifetime warranty on their products and they're a fairly established company. The majority of us in the Altima Coupe section use them and haven't had any problems thus far. They're prices are pretty competitive too! I just hate to see people spending money on these fly-by-night eBay sellers that may or may not be distributing a quality product...

With regards to what 2young2retire said regarding the bulb output "colour", he's mostly correct. The light from HIDs is noticeably blue around 8000k. For a nice, crisp white without any hint of yellow I'd suggest 6000k. Yes, light output is indeed less the higher you go up in K-value, but even at 12,000K (close to purple) it'll still be brighter than the halogens currently being used! For the purposes of general driving, the DDM 35-watt kit will be perfect.

I would go with 5300K lights, its basically daylight, I know some people like them to look blue or what ever color, but I use them to see the road and nothing beats the 5000K's

Interested in the conversion kit but how do you get at the headlight bulb? Way too tight for a hand--does the pod come out?

Guess that I'm a member of the procrastinators club in good standing. Been dragging my feet and the daughter hasn't complained lately. Will get around to it shortly.

don't know if you've upgraded to HIDs yet, but I just checked DDMtuning and they have a special going on right now...$25. Can't beat that for a nice set of HIDs.

I thought they would range around $50.00 and not $100.00

I'd recommend DDM Tuning also. I recently purchased and installed the 6000K 9007 kit for my halogen headlamps and the 3000K 9006 kit for my fogs. I chose the slim ballast for both kits as the engine compartment is tight and I wanted to make life easier when mounting the ballasts. I have other branded kits on my other cars, and I'd have to say that the DDM kits are comparable in quality if not better. Super easy plug and play...and a great deal @ $39.95 each. I haven't seen prices that low anywhere else. :gapteeth:
