I have a friend who told me i need some sort of resister in order to run a HID kit. Is this true?

sorry to steal your thread, but is there any guide or instruction out there for the i30 or maxima? i bought a kit off my friend who had it working in a jeep, but when i bought it ($20), it didnt have instructions and so im a little confused. its got a few cables, 2 boxes, and 2 bulbs.

theyre both for the 9004 headlights so it should fit.
