HID colors

how does the color work? I want a Purple color to show from my HID. iis it the ballast that makes the color or the bulb. i think its the bulb but im not to sure

it is the color temp of the bulb,and the higher the color temp,the less visible{usable} light is emitted. purple will require a color temp around 9000 kelvins and not throw much useful light down the road,but boy does it look trick!

so i dont have to worry bout tha ballast, i can get any type of ballast like one for a 6000k and put 9000k bulbsand higher and it should be purple?

yes,but usually you buy a kit that includes the ballast and bulbs with all hardware- many conflicting opinions on effectiveness of any retrofitted kits used in headlamps not designed for hid. proceed at your own risk,and remember the assembly will not be street legal,so you run the risk of the roving tax collector asking for a donation.
