Anybody know what size/kind of bulb the 99 Q45T uses?

The manual specifies D2R, but I think if you examine them they are D2S, like Sylvania specifies. You will need a specialty security torx head driver to access them.

Any idea where to get the tool? What is the brightes buld I can put in the car without over-loading the ballasts?

Harbor Freight, Fry's, etc.

There really are no choices. It is HID.

it uses D2R... R stands for Reflector.. aka what we have on the Q.. considering those are what i Pulled out of mine.. and the bulbs fit in a very spacific way, you cant fit a D2S bulb without modifying it.

Thanks for clarifying. Sylvania is thus wrong. I haven't replaced mine, but I (evidently falsely) remember someone saying they were 2S.
