Tokyo r-tuner upgrades available in japan. Is there any new update when we are going to get this option in the US and Canada?

I know versaspeed is looking to beat the date on some of the options, is there any update to when the New Hid headlights will be released?

i know that this setup is probably illegal here, but at least someone is trying.

Here is the old article some of you have probably seen a while back.

Nissan Revamps Nismo and Mulls Overseas Expansion PlansTOKYO Nissan on Thursday announced that it is revamping its Nismo performance-parts operation and is "exploring expansion plans to overseas markets for its tuner-parts business."

"The revamp allows Nismo to focus on its core strengths and expertise to develop high-performance heavy-tune parts that cater to a dedicated customer base of tuners and racing enthusiasts," the automaker said in a statement.

In the home market, customizers can now get Nismo-branded tuner parts and a professional tuning service at "any Nissan dealership across the country." The first light-tune part that will become available in Japan is the "Nismo S-tune" for the Nissan Tiida.

"With a growing customization and tuner market, combined with a wider distribution network for its Nismo-branded specialty parts, Nissan is expecting strong growth," it said. "Looking ahead, Nissan is also exploring expansion plans to overseas markets for its tuner-parts business."

These are probably legal. The law states that kits that come with lamps that are designed specifically for HIDs are allowed. It's the retrofit kits (putting HID capsule in Halogen lamp housings) that are illegal. The former should produce sharp cut-offs while the latter produces a lot of glare -- which is the reason for complaints that lead to NHTSA's ruling back in 2001.

as mentioned above, HID assemblies which are made as entire assemblies are legal... IF they are aimed properly with the correct LHD cutoffs.
