Got another problem people. From what i've read in the factory service manual a 98 Ka24de the coolant temp. sensor should be putting out 5.00 volt constant with the key turn on. Well I tested the sensor and im only pushing 4.85. I believe that is the reason why it is doing this, but I cant figure out what could be causing it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

what do you mean when you say "Hiccup?" Does it kinda stall out or loose power? does it last for the rest of the RPM range then after 4 grand? Is the car running rich at all? 4.85 V doesnt sound all that bad, I really don't think that's enough of a discrepancy from stock voltage to cause a problem.

Yes I do mean a loss of power, and it really varies when it happens but mostly after 4 grand and then on. The car does seem to run rich sometimes that is why I was wondering about that sensor. Sometimes you can smell gas pretty bad but I just dont know where to go next.

Well if it's running rich, that's a good place to start. You can also try the usual stuff like cleaning the MAFS, changing air filter, plugs general maintenance stuff like that. Tell me how it turns out!

I've done all that before and I also have another good working mafs. I have the 300zx fuel filter on there and I have changed it about 5 times now and just recently i got all the nasty red lookin crap outta there. I think it was rust. But do you have any other type of idea? Maybe injectors and if so how do I test them. Thanks

it sounds like it could be ur tps but it could be other things including timming or fuel mixture. it all depends on when exactly it happens how you r driving it when it happens where the pedal is when it occurs.

to test your cts get an ohm meter and unplug the sensor and check the resitance of the sensor. you will also need a thermometer to check the temp of your coolant. the values are as follows: Resistance 2.1 - 2.9 K ohms at 68 deg F 0.68 - 1.00 K ohms at 122 deg F 0.236 - 0.260 K ohms at 194 deg F hope this helps

Ok I tested the codes on my computer...I threw a front o2 sensor and cts code. Do you guys think that those two are causing each other to throw the codes or both are bad. Or would that even make the car run like it is. Oh btw it runs fine when it is first started in the morning.
