HICAS warning light...

Have a 93 J30T and ther HICAS warning light comes on periodically. Is it dangerous to continue driving it and what exactly is the rear wheel steering about anyway?

WHen the HICAS light is on, that just means the rear wheels are in a normal position..

Completely OK to to drive like that.....

Basically it can steer the wheels in the rear a few degrees at higher speeds (above 30 i think)

It's OK to drive with a lit warning lamp? There is a fluid level sensor that lights the lamp when the fluid gets low. Changing fluid temps can affect volume. Hopefully topping off the fluid will fix the problem.

Also, to expand daedalus's repsonse, the wheels only turn about 1°.

Why do the engineers put those warning lamps in there just to annoy us?

The only reason I said it was OK is because on Fred's Q the HICAS light and he said it didnt matter, i figured he's been around the Q long enough to know that its safe... Hicas isnt active if the light is on...

Kind of makes you glad Fred doesn't spontaneously jump off high precipces, doesn't it?

i feel like i almost have no control over the vehicle anymore over bumps..i think it may be a suspension problem....oh GOD$
