hicas to non hicas

Hello nico, my name is Torey im from Virginia beach Va and im in the process of turning my 91 super hicas s13 to a non hicas .I looked all over the forums and i cant seem to find a list of all the power steering parts i need, i need to know is what i have below every thing i need for the power steering to be non hicas ( Other then the pressure hose i already orderd that.

your going to need a rear hicas bar and install that pump n res and your set

your going to need a rear hicas bar and install that pump n res and your set
i think ima just weld the toe arms where they move in the rear hicas subframe after i swap the ps pump in , thanks man

Don't do that.

Either swap the entire subframe out with a non-hicas s13 (recommended) or get an eliminator bar. Either way, don't forget to pinch off/eliminate the lines going to the rear rack.

why would it not be a good idea to just weld it ? the hicas bar is like $180 and i can get it welded for free

In this case, bolt-on is better then welded because of the rust issues S13s tend to have, and it's a very stressed point on the car, so a weld would bust in a matter of weeks.

If you can get welds for free, then cough up a few dollars for the steel and have someone weld up an eliminator bar instead of doing a solid weld-in bar. There's gotta be some dimensions on the web somewhere telling how you have to cut the steel to make it...
