hicas?

ok, i found out what this hicas **** is, now i wanna know if my car has it. when i look under the car, i see things that lead me to believe i do, like rubber seals by the wheels, ect... How can i tell? also, id be curious if anyone knows what hicas actually stands for?

american 240s don't have hicas. i think you can only get hicas in Q45's and 300zx's, in the us and canada at least.

Look underneath your car at your rear wheels. If you have Hicas, you will see two rods that look like tie rods at the back of the wheels that go to the center of the car. If you have Hicas, you also have an LSD, which to me is MUCH more important. How do I know it's more important. Because I have both. I've never noticed the Hicas doing anything(not completely sure it even works), but I notice the LSD working every time I light up the rear tires. Don't know if I'll ever be able to go back to an open diff.

hey, then i think i do, cause the car is a little harder to burn out in than other cars, and when i did my one street race where i returned to the start line, i saw that i left 2 black strips. thanks much, im gonna go take another peek at the rear end tomorrow morning

i was wrong american 240's do have hicas, but not a 1990 like he has, even though he's in canada i assume us and canada get the same. 91-93 SE Fastback models had hicas as an option.

Did any S14s come with HICAS as an option? (And on the same topic I did a search and people said that all 95+ had LSDs and some said that not all did, which is it?)

only S14 SE's with ABS have an LSD, so not all S14's have LSD. and no us S14's have hicas.

another way to tell, at least around here, is the hicas cars had it written on the side of the car just infront of the rear tires ( really i'm not trying be sarcastic) also there would be a dedicated warning light on the right side of the steering wheel (low on the dash)

super hicas = all wheel steering + limited slip differential + anti lock brakes.

With scuba_sean in Canada I think most, if not all, 240's up there came with LSDs?Putting down 2 rubber lines is an LSD for sure (I want one) but may not be a great way to tell if you have s-hicas.

However the pic that super_hicas put in is a sure way to tell.
