It takes a while to get used to and even then it is scary when it engages at high speed sometimes. Also it add considerable weight and it makes the rear end seem a little softer. It's nice for a daily driver though who doesn't really plan on heavy mods.

Skyline has ATESSA right (which includes Hicas)? Maybe not your year. The 300zx also has Hicas option just FYI.

I have the HICAS, and I actually like it. I know that probably indicates some sort of genetic defect, but hey different strokes right? I'll agree that it's a bit scary sometimes, but mine has been pretty consistent. However, if you are a bit sketchy about the HICAS, don't ever ride in the passenger side of a car that has it. Something about not having control of the car....

The GTR uses ATTESA, so does the GTS-4, but the GTS-t models only have HICAS. I don't like HICAS, I was almost tossed off a cliff when it kicked. To each his own...some like it.

Hi I'm new to this. I was just wondering was do the HICAS system to exactly that makes it so undesirable? I mean, I practice driving whenever I can, (trying to learn how to drift) in the rain and stuff. But, I don't understand what HICAS does. To me, I don't feel anything different when I pratice drifting. It feels the same just like when I normally drive, which sometimes is a constant 85-100 mph on the freeway.

I feel that the slippage is because I need some suspension parts such as Sway bars to keep the back end down. So, once again what does the HICAS system do exactly?

HICAS is rear wheel steering. It sucked so much on s13s that they offer kits to eliminate it and im pretty sure they didnt even bother offering it with s14 240s. Im not saying it sucked ingeneral, just for drifting and such. If you live in the city and need to make very sharp turns into parking spaces then im sure it is very useful.
