I'm planning to install a lower ratio hicas steering rack in my 95 s14. Is there only one model to look for or do I need something specific in a group. will I run into any probs seeing as this is a non hicas car? I would appreciate any info befor I start calling around. Thanks

according to fast the part # should be 49200-S13004 hope that helps. i have no idea if it will help or hinder you car. I would just suggest getting some tein or other brand inner and outer tie rods that will allow you to turn your wheels further.

Yeah, if anyone has done this please speak up and give some impressions. I've been told by others on nico that it's possible and they "have one waiting to go in". But the issue is still open ended and I need to button it up real soon. What am I in for, gurus?

Oh, and what do you mean by "fast"?

The correct part number is: 49200-53F60. CourtesyParts does not use the actual part numbers. The first five digits on CourtesyPart numbers is the part code, which differs from the part number. With the 12 digit model code and the part code the dealer can find the correct part for your vehicle/application.

Nissan Fast is the computer program that looks up part numbers.

Yea I was being lazy and just used CourtesyParts thinking it was going to be the same #s but yea Fast is Nissans parts catalog. I guess i should have just put the cds in and actually took the time to look it up. Sorry.

Are you going to buy a new steering rack from nissan? Because the non-hicas is lik 1300$ brand new. Why not reman it?

I take it you mean remanufactured? Yes, I guess this is what I plan on doing since I didn't know they would cost so much. I really need to know more about the specifics of this swap. Rack from a hicas _13 into my 95 s13. What to look out for, certain problems I might be up against. There must be someone who's done this.

Has anyone ever found out? If you can use a Hicas rack on an s14, or even an s13 rack?
