HICAS - shocks, sway bars
Several of the Shock sets, and sway bar sets I have been looking at will state - With adjustable HICAS suspension not available. Yet, the same product someplace else will not state this. I have found no literature warning me that HICAS requires specific suspension pieces. My feeling is it doesn't, or there would be much better lableing of products, BUT... If anyone can cast some light on this subject I would be very gratefull. Thank you for your time
Ignore the warning. I'll explain why it's there.
On the Q45 there was an option to have HICAS and a special electronic adjustable suspension. For some reason, aftermarket manufacturers now have that disclaimer on all their Nissan suspension stuff - because the electronic shocks aren't compatible with aftermarket stuff (at least not without modificiation, IIRC).
However, that special electronic suspension wasn't offered on the 240...just the HICAS. Hence, all the stuff that will fit a non-HICAS 240 will also fit a HICAS 240. In fact, you should already have a stock sway bar in the rear (came with SE package).
