So I got a 1991 240 le, just starting to really get into it after having it for a year. I'm using it as a drift car so HICAS ain't gonna be staying with me. I'm looking for anyone who knows of any issues removing the whole system. This is a schematic of the system:

As far as I can tell, removing the rear steering rack, the lines as well HICAS solenoid and then plug off the lines coming from the psp there should really be no issue. I can't find any info on a complete removal so let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

I removed it on mine and and got a HICAS bar, still have it brand new I repainted it yellow. You don't have toe arms in the rear like a normal subframe, instead you have tie rods. It's better to just swap subframes (which is what I ended up doing)

Swap PS pumps, new fluid reservoir. Remove the rack in the rear along with all the lines going from the engine bay, also on the passenger side fender wheel near the motor and you're good to go.

Let me know if you want the HICAS delete bar.

Alright, so basically get a new subframe, the worst. Is there any alternative to removing it and still keep the hicas subframe?, and go Alberta, you must have a pretty sick car man, 2j in a s13, not bad at all ha

There are a few options for removing the rack- If you search "HICAS eliminator bar" you should get a few to pop up. Also, SPL offers a more expensive version as well- click the sponsor- DO IT!!!
