I have read a bit about this and searched for it, but just thought I would ask to be sure. For my R32 RB26 power steering pump I need to disable the output for Hicas. Everything I have read said remove the impeller blades and epoxy the hole shut and thats about it. I have not taken my pump apart yet (maybe tonight), but if anyone has any further insight it would be helpful.

There's 4 bolts on the back of the pump. It's a 2 chamber pump. The rear chamber when you take it apart will have vanes in it. (little square pieces of metal)Pull all of those out so the rear section will not do anything and then put it back together. Then what I did was take the banjo bolt fill it will JB weld and cut the line fitting to use as as spacer.

If you can find the proper bolt to fit stuff it in there. I couldn't.

do not epoxy it shut, it will leak and its gross.take one of the banjo bolts to the parts store and go to the oil drain section, find the metric oil drain bolt that same diamater (thread pitches are the same) trim the unthreaded portion off and then use the modded drain plug in place of the banjo bolt.cleaner and works a HELL of a lot better.

If you block off the port with a modded drain plug, but left the vanes in would there be any problems?

You would be pressurizing the rear section of the ps pump and heating up the fluid. Most definetly would cause a leak.It might even go boom haha .
